More cars for guests, more money in hosts’ pockets
Peak demand season for carsharing is here.
Warmer weather means more excuses to be out of the house and on the move for many — and that means more potential business for carsharing hosts. And this year, we’re going to make it easier than ever for new and current hosts to get the most bang for their buck, while helping connect people with the cars they need when they need them most.
Starting now and until the end of August 2022, Getaround is giving carsharing hosts the highest per-car guarantee we’ve ever offered as well as a $1,200 bonus for new cars listed into the program.
It’s all part of the 2022 Earnings Guarantee Program.
“The demand for carsharing is higher than ever as Americans are eager to start traveling again. We’ve structured this new earnings program to improve the overall host experience, maximizing a host’s earning potential on their vehicles to increase their overall monthly income,” says Nick Tenekedes, Vice President of Marketplace at Getaround. “This is one of our biggest incentives to date and we’re thrilled to help existing and new hosts build their businesses and increase cash flow.”
So how does it work?
Getaround makes sure participating hosts earn a minimum amount each month. If the money a host makes in a month from guest bookings falls short of the base guarantee amount, Getaround makes up the difference. So, for an $1,800 guarantee, a host making $1,500 through guest bookings gets an extra $300 added to the next month’s payout.
In addition to the base guarantee, participating hosts can earn even more with monthly add-ons and one-time bonuses:
- $1,200 for each eligible new car that’s listed and enrolled in the program before May 15, 2022, and paid out after the car goes live and meets eligibility requirements for 90 days.
- A one-time bonus of $1,000 paid out to hosts who opt in before May 15, 2022 and maintain eligibility and availability requirements for the duration of the program.
- A 15% add-on to each month’s base guarantee for cars that receive guest feedback scores of 4.5 or higher.
- A 10% add-on add-on to each month’s base guarantee for cars that are enrolled in our Drive with Uber program, in markets where the program is offered.*
Any host with an eligible car can apply for a spot in the program. Spots are limited and will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Eligibility is determined on a per car, per month basis, and based on the ZIP code of the car's parked location. To maintain eligibility, cars must be available for at least 80% of weekday hours, and have zero weekend hours blocked during each calendar month.
What’s more: hosts get to see what they can earn before they even enroll.
