Our partnership with Uber makes it easy to book a Getaround car by the hour and earn while picking up Uber riders or delivering Uber Eats orders. Now available in 15 cities, it's the best of both worlds and uses the Getaround platform you're already familiar with. You can enjoy a very low-commitment step into the world of ride-sharing — or drive every day.

Why should I drive with Uber?

You can earn money on your own schedule—and when you drive a Getaround vehicle, you won't have to handle car maintenance, parking, insurance, or any of the other considerations that come with car ownership. Just book the car you want exactly when you want to complete Uber rides, and we'll take care of the rest. You can also drive for Uber Eats.

Hourly rates also mean that you can start slow and see how Uber driving fits into your life. You can get started with no further commitment.

In fact, Getaround is one of the only ways to get a car hourly for Uber driving. You get the freedom and versatility to drive when it actually suits your needs, and your life.

How do I drive with Uber?

Once your Uber Driver account is set up and approved in the Uber Driver app, the process is a lot like a standard booking on Getaround. (We'll get to setting up your account in a minute.)

Start by opening the Getaround app. Tap the three-bar menu at the top left of the screen, then tap Drive with Uber. (You'll only see that option after you’ve successfully linked your Uber Driver account to your Getaround account.) Once you've indicated that you're driving with Uber, you'll see black location pins showing all available Uber-eligible vehicles on the map.

Follow the normal process of entering the date and time you wish to book a car. Although many Getaround cars are eligible for Uber driving, not all are.

When you book a car for use with Uber, you'll need to reserve the vehicle for at least 1 hour. That's just the minimum, though: keep in mind that longer reservations are often better for you and your Uber riders. Not only do longer bookings mean more time for you to drive and make money, but they can also give you a buffer at the end of your reservation. In the event an Uber trip lasts longer than expected, Instead of scrambling to try to extend  your car reservation you can drive stress-free, knowing that you have plenty of time left with your Getaround car.
