Enjoy Record Store Day with a Tune-Filled Trip

Apr 15, 2016 2 min read

To celebrate Record Store Day, we’ve pulled together our Top 10 road trip tracks. Just because you can’t spin your favorite vinyl in the car, doesn’t mean you can’t take a drive with some tunes from your collection.

Hit up your favorite local record stores, then hit the road with Getaround.

1. Holiday Road – Lindsey Buckingham

Nostalgic for National Lampoon road trips? Not with this tune. If this song doesn’t make you want to hit the open road, nothing will.

2. Fantastic Voyage – Coolio

When he wasn’t spending his life livin’ in a Gansta’s Paradise, Coolio was busy taking some pretty epic road trips.

3. Born to Run – Bruce Springsteen

Is a road trip even possible without The Boss? Sprung from cages on Highway 9. Chrome-wheeled, fuel-injected and steppin’ out over the line. This song is the open road.

4. Maps – Yeah Yeah Yeahs

This track has nothing to do with driving, but it’s too good not to include.

5. Crossroads – Bone Thugs N Harmony

No explanation needed.

6. Fun Fun Fun – The Beach Boys

Adding “I Get Around” to the list seemed like cheating so we went with Brian’s second best. Besides, who isn’t looking for fun, fun or… more fun?

7. Nightfall – Kapinsky

For when the drive is starting to feel a little too long – this song will get you back in the zone.

8. Lana Del Rey – Ride

Lana is a favorite around Getaround HQ so we’d be in big trouble if she didn’t make the list. This sad summer jam is perfect for a top down cruise to anywhere.

9. G-Eazy ft. Janis Joplin – Mercedez Benz

We hope Janis got her Mercedez Benz. We like to think she would have car shared, and encouraged all her friends who drive Porches to do the same.

Home – Edward Sharpe and Magnetic Zeros

Sometimes the best part of a road trip is coming home. Anyone who can listen to this song without singing along is not to be trusted.

Have a favorite road trip song that didn’t make the list – tell us in the comments!
